Football Recap: Anthony Iaquinta's Menacing Defense Leads Providence Catholic over Kankakee + How To Watch

Providence Catholic had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over the Kankakee Kays on Saturday. Given the Celtics' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Kays are ranked 85th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Providence Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Iaquinta.

Providence Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games. As for Kankakee, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Providence Catholic has already played their next game, a 39-6 victory against Washington on the 15th. Kankakee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
