Volleyball Game Preview: Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles vs. Fort Scott Tigers

The Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Fort Scott Tigers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Maranatha Christian Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

If Lutheran wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Maranatha Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Abby Nash. The Eagles blew past the Knights 3-0 on Thursday with plenty of help from Nash, who had eight digs and three aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 24 games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-16, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Fort Scott earned a 2-0 victory over Field Kindley on Tuesday.

Fort Scott easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-25. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, their record now sits at 28-4.

Maranatha Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Scott when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
