Preview: Pine View Panthers vs. Elko Indians
Having just played yesterday, the Pine View Panthers will jump right back in to play the Elko Indians at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pine View has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 724 points over their last 11 contests.
On Wednesday, Pine View got the win against Cyprus by a conclusive 69-49. Given Pine View's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Cyprus is ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pine View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Griffen Shepherd out in front who scored 22 points. The game was Shepherd's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Schroeder, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Elko lost to Snow Canyon on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin on Wednesday.
Pine View is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Elko, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
