Softball Recap: Cherry Hill West Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Cherry Hill West kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Geneva Knights.

Nadya Devenny was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Geneva and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Cherry Hill West will square off against East Lake at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. East Lake's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Cherry Hill West's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Geneva, they will face off against Deltona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Geneva 4, Deltona 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
