Houghton Lake had lost eight straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-11 to make it nine. They lost 16-4 to the Evart Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 on Tuesday.

As for Evart, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. Considering they have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Evart's part, they let Aidan Anderson and Aaron VanAssche run wild. Anderson went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while VanAssche went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Anderson is becoming a predictor of Evart's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-4-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Magnusson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
