While Sumrall's win against Pass Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Pirates on Saturday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Drew Davis was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Landon Hawkins, who scored a run and stole a base.

Sumrall's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Pass Christian, they dropped their record down to 11-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumrall will challenge Mize at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pass Christian, they will square off against Resurrection Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
