Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 59-15 loss at the hands of the Highlands Highlanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-24 last Tuesday.

Brooklyn Kenney was Blue Ridge Early College's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Kenney also led the team in rebounds with six. McKenzie Woods took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Blue Ridge Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Highlands, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Blue Ridge Early College wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-16 loss against Robbinsville on the 8th. As for Highlands, they have also already played their next matchup, a 43-31 defeat against Hayesville on the 8th.
