Baseball Recap: Pflugerville Connally Cougars vs. Weiss Wolves
Pflugerville Connally had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-17 to make it seven. They lost 15-4 to the Weiss Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 13-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.
Pflugerville Connally saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Camareno Aguilera, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Weiss, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
On Weiss' side, Jordan Benjamin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Benjamin has posted since back in March of 2024. Patrick Brock also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
While Pflugerville Connally had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
