Baseball Recap: Burges Takes a Loss

Burges was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Silver Foxes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silver Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Giovanny Leos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Burges' loss dropped their record down to 6-12-2. As for Jefferson, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burges is set to take on their familiar foe Canutillo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jefferson will face off against rival Chapin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
