The Westside Seminoles will challenge the Callaway Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
Last Saturday, Westside ended up a good deal behind Morgan County and lost 59-41. The game marked the Seminoles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Christian Little, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Joshua Harden was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Meanwhile, Callaway came up short against Morgan County on Friday and fell 56-44. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 141st).
Like Callaway, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Kaiden James led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points James has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Thomas, who earned six points in addition to 16 boards and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Callaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.
Westside's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Callaway, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Westside has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Callaway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Westside was able to grind out a solid victory over Callaway in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 46-38. Will Westside repeat their success, or does Callaway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
