Baseball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayden Weeks and Conor Griffin Lead New Hampton School to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vermont Academy, New Hampton School was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Brewster Academy National Bobcats get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Bodie Bartram made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because New Hampton School is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-6-1 otherwise. Bartram was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Conor Griffin and Hayden Weeks did most of the damage at the plate: Griffin went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Weeks went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Griffin has posted since back in April. Max Moore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

New Hampton School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are undefeated (3-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

New Hampton School's record is now 4-7-1. As for Brewster Academy National, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, New Hampton School will take on St. Paul's at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Big Red will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brewster Academy National, they will challenge Kimball Union Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
