Sturgeon lost to Wellsville-Middletown back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Sturgeon Bulldogs escaped with a win against the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Sturgeon's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Sturgeon has already played their next game, a 66-33 defeat against Westran on the 22nd. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-37 loss against North Callaway on the 21st.
