Softball Recap: Mingus Marauders vs. Coconino Panthers
Mingus extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping them down to 3-16. They lost 11-1 to the Coconino Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Friday.
Mingus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kambra Hahn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Coconino, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Considering they have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Coconino's side, Jade Sandoval made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Sandoval has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Hailey Householder was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cassidey Castillo, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
