Baseball Recap: Georgetown G-Men vs. Felicity-Franklin Cardinals
Georgetown made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Felicity-Franklin, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The G-Men fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The G-Men were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Bradley Ison put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Ison was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jordan Preston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
Georgetown is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Felicity-Franklin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown will face off against Blanchester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the G-Men's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Felicity-Franklin, they will challenge Clermont Northeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
