Baseball Recap: Silas Rams vs. River Ridge Hawks
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Peninsula, Silas was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the River Ridge Hawks 3-1.

Carter Lystra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Lystra wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cade Owen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Owen a new career-high.

Silas has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for River Ridge, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Silas will take on Ingraham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Silas 3.2, Ingraham 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. River Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
