Basketball Recap: Coventry Extends Winning Streak to Four

Coventry entered their tilt with East Windsor on Wednesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the East Windsor Panthers with a sharp 56-36 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Coventry got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jianna Foran out in front who went 7-for-16 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. Foran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Wheeler, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 16 points.

Coventry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

East Windsor lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Taylor Jackson, who posted ten points and seven steals. She has become a key player for East Windsor: the team is 10-3 when she posts at least three steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bailey Winner, who had 13 points and five rebounds.

Coventry's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for East Windsor, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.

Coventry has already played their next contest, a 39-26 win against East Granby on the 21st. East Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
