Basketball Recap: Fort Morgan Comes Up Short

Fort Morgan's last matchup with Platte Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Fort Morgan Mustangs were outmatched by the Platte Valley Broncos and fell 63-35. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Talyn Short went supernova for Platte Valley, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points. Short is becoming a predictor of Platte Valley's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 4-16 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Rocco Minner, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Fort Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Platte Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-16.

As of now, neither Fort Morgan nor Platte Valley have any future games scheduled.
