Softball Recap: Gateway Regional Comes Up Short

Gateway Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Haddonfield Bulldawgs, falling 20-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Miley Powell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Worthington, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Gateway Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Haddonfield, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Gateway Regional will take on Collingswood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Haddonfield, they will face off against Lindenwold at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
