Basketball Recap: Lake Mary Comes Up Short

If Lake Mary was feeling good fresh off their 88-52 takedown of Deltona last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lake Mary Rams took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Silverhawks are ranked 35th).

Lake Howell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Janiel De Los Santos out in front who posted 11 points. Isaac Buckley was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Lake Mary now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lake Howell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Lake Mary didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-62 defeat against Hagerty on the 14th. As for Lake Howell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-55 loss against Lake Highland Prep on the 15th.
