Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Tustin's Winning Streak

Tustin and Heritage Christian squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Tustin had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tillers have suffered since March 29th.

Tustin got a good showing from Andrew Lechuga, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Angel Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Tustin is 2-1 when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 11-15-1 otherwise.

The loss snapped Tustin's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-16-1 record. As for Heritage Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season.

Tustin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Christian, they will face off against Montebello at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.6, the Oilers 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
