Basketball Recap: Southern Guilford Takes a Loss

Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Rockingham County Cougars on the road by a 48-30 margin. The Storm were probably out for revenge after losing 57-39 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Southern Guilford still got an impressive performance from Lanor'Risa Fordburnett, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Slaughter, who put up five points and four steals.

Southern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Rockingham County, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Southern Guilford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-44 defeat against Ragsdale on the 11th. As for Rockingham County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bartlett Yancey on the 11th.
