Gaston Day posted their closest victory since October 3, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Hickory Christian Academy Knights 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.

Gaston Day had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 20-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-12.

Gaston Day's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaston Day will venture away from home to challenge Carmel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Varsity Opponent at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
