Basketball Recap: East Alton-Wood River's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Mt. Olive came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against East Alton-Wood River, but Kaylynn Buttry wouldn't allow it. The East Alton-Wood River Oilers came out on top against the Mt. Olive Wildcats by a score of 59-51 on Wednesday thanks in part to Buttry, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Milla Legette, who posted nine points along with seven assists and six steals. That's the most assists she has posted since back in November of 2023.

East Alton-Wood River's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16. As for Mt. Olive, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-11.

East Alton-Wood River has already played their next game, a 66-26 defeat against Breese Central on the 3rd. As for Mt. Olive, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-54 victory against North Greene on the 30th.
