After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Faith Christian Academy, Academy Park was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Collegium Charter Cougar with a sharp 10-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Academy Park needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.
For Collegium Charter's part, Harrison Mendenhall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
The win got Academy Park back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy Park will face off against Chester at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collegium Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 2nd. Collegium Charter is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
