Baseball Game Preview: Red Bank Catholic Caseys vs. Ranney

The Red Bank Catholic Caseys will square off against Ranney at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bank Catholic will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Red Bank Catholic barely beat Jackson Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Caseys put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 7-1 victory on Saturday. Fans of the Caseys have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Ranney ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Middletown North 3-2.

Noah Hynes looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ricky Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brody Mauro, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Red Bank Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Ranney, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Red Bank Catholic's way against Ranney in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Red Bank Catholic made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Caseys repeat their success, or do Ranney have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
