Baseball Recap: Miller Grove Takes a Loss

Miller Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lone Oak Buffaloes.

Jesse Yates was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Cameron Sears also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Miller Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lone Oak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Miller Grove Hornets challenge Mineola Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lone Oak, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Prairiland at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Oak is facing Prairiland at the right time seeing as Prairiland is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
