Baseball Recap: Frederick Victorious

The Frederick Golden Eagles beat the Monarch Coyotes 9-6 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Preston Kissinger tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He is becoming a predictor of Frederick's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Bryson Satterly and Dom LeFevre did most of the damage at the plate: Satterly scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while LeFevre scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Satterly posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Alex Clapp was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Frederick's record is now 6-7. As for Monarch, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Frederick will host Fort Lupton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Monarch, they will square off against Broomfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Coyotes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
