Pomperaug is a perfect 9-0 against New Fairfield since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Rebels at 4:15 p.m. Neither Pomperaug nor New Fairfield posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Pomperaug fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brookfield on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-2 to the Bobcats. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for New Fairfield's offense. They came up short against Brookfield on Friday, falling 12-0. The Rebels have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

New Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Pomperaug, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Pomperaug came out on top in a nail-biter against New Fairfield when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 9-8. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
