Manitowoc Lincoln took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Notre Dame Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Ships narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tritons 8-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Ships as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Anya Hall, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Paige Novak also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Manitowoc Lincoln's record now sits at 2-4. As for Notre Dame Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manitowoc Lincoln will host Sheboygan South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Ships are facing the Redwings at the right time seeing as the Redwings are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Green Bay Preble at 4:30 p.m.
