Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Find Success

It's playoff time, and Grosse Pointe South had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Western International Cowboys a 3-0 shutout on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 back in April.

Grosse Pointe South got a great performance from Jack Danielewicz as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Danielewicz has posted since back in April.

At the plate, Grosse Pointe South's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Hess, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Grosse Pointe South's victory bumped their record up to 31-7. As for Western International, their loss dropped their record down to 21-11-2.

As of now, neither Grosse Pointe South nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
