Basketball Recap: Bowman Academy Takes a Loss

Bowman Academy lost against Highland back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bowman Academy Eagles took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Trojans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Bowman Academy still got an impressive performance from Kahlen Robinson, who went 6 of 14 en route to 23 points and six rebounds. The match was Robinson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laniece Smith, who posted five points.

Even though they lost, Bowman Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Bowman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will host Andrean at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrean will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bowman Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highland, they will welcome Griffith at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
