Basketball Recap: Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova Takes a Loss

Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by the Hillcrest Vikings 75-46. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Vikings are ranked 171st).

Hillcrest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cornell Watson out in front who made all 7 shots he took for 17 points. Jerrell Miller was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points.

Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Hillcrest, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova Eagles duke it out with the Oakhaven Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Hillcrest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-25 win against Memphis School of Excellence Winchester on the 31st.
