Volleyball Recap: Ferndale's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Ferndale won the last time they faced Hoopa Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 win over the Warriors.

Ferndale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-17.

Amaya Mathews paced Ferndale's offense, picking up seven kills. Mathews got some help from Dalia Cantu-Mendez and her 15 assists. Olivia Gossi controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luella Cosce, who had 18 digs.

Ferndale's victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11. As for Hoopa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1.
