Basketball Game Preview: Rampart Rams vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

The Rampart Rams will take on the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rampart's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.

Rampart took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Fountain-Fort Carson with a sharp 57-35 win. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Trojans are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge came up short against Pueblo West on Monday and fell 51-39. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Vista Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Rampart, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Rampart came up short against Vista Ridge in their previous matchup back in January, falling 59-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Vista Ridge's Zay Thurman, who almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 15 boards, and nine assists.
