Football Recap: Tyson Woods and Jayce Jean-Philippe Pace St. Michael the Archangel Defense

St. Michael the Archangel was the 30-6 winner over Friendship Collegiate Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 30-14 bruising from the Knights on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 56th in Virginia, while the Knights are ranked third in District of Columbia).

Although St. Michael the Archangel took the loss, they still got scores from Tyson Woods, Jayce Jean-Philippe, and Jabari Cox.

St. Michael the Archangel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Woods and Jean-Philippe. Jean-Philippe is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last three games he's played. Woods got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Michael the Archangel's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

St. Michael the Archangel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against KIPP College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
