Baseball Game Preview: San Antonio Christian Lions vs. St. Augustine Knights

San Antonio Christian is 7-1 against St. Augustine since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. San Antonio Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

San Antonio Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bracken Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6.

Nolan Amerman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Eli Flores also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Augustine, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Saint Mary's Hall on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since March 7, 2024.

St. Augustine's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for San Antonio Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

San Antonio Christian came up short against St. Augustine when the teams last played back in March, falling 10-7. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
