Soccer Game Preview: Churchill vs. Garden City

The Churchill Chargers will challenge the Garden City Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garden City will have to contend with a Churchill squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen yet this season. Churchill came up short against Carlson on Thursday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Churchill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while Carlson are ranked 73rd).

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Garden City's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 4-1 to Detroit Country Day. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Garden City were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Avery Klemola, who's now up to 18 this season.

Garden City's loss dropped their record down to 11-2-1. As for Churchill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14-1.
