Volleyball Game Preview: Walker Wildcats vs. St. Amant Gators

Walker hasn't had much luck against St. Amant recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Walker got the win against Hammond by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won three in a row.

Walker walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-16.

Walker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Vetter out in front who had 24 digs. That's the most digs Vetter has posted over her last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Olivia Nall, who had seven digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, St. Amant earned a 2-0 win over Zachary on Saturday.

Walker's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for St. Amant, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.

Walker came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Amant in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
