Basketball Recap: West Park Takes a Loss

West Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grant Pacers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Pacers are ranked 133rd).

West Park's record now sits at 10-9. As for Grant, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Park Panthers take on the McClatchy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in McClatchy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Grant, they will square off against Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Antelope will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grant surely won't give up without a fight.
