Baseball Game Preview: Plainfield North Tigers vs. Yorkville Foxes

For the second straight game, Plainfield North will face off against Yorkville. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plainfield North has six straight wins, Yorkville has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Plainfield North is returning to their home field after beating Yorkville on theirs, despite the fact Yorkville has dominated at home this season. The Tigers put the hurt on the Foxes with a sharp 11-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Plainfield North pushed their record up to 22-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Yorkville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15-1.
