Softball Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. Paraclete Spirits

The Bishop Amat Lancers will face off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Amat is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Paraclete will be up against a hot Bishop Amat team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Lancers came out on top against Claremont by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday.

Bishop Amat got a great performance from Lauren Sanchez as she tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Sanchez has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Johnson and Bianca Rojo did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Rojo went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Paraclete never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Burroughs 20-0. Considering the Spirits have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Paraclete and bumps their season record up to 15-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop Amat, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
