Football Recap: Hugo Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hugo can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-8 loss at the hands of the Metro Christian Patriots on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Buffaloes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jayka Santillan threw for 160 yards and one touchdown. Quincy Shelton was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards. On the ground, Jamari Scroggins rushed for 82 yards.

Hugo now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Metro Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Hugo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Metro Christian, they will challenge Oklahoma Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Patriots 8.2, the Saints 8.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
