Basketball Recap: Fairwinds Christian Comes Up Short

Fairwinds Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Faith Baptist School Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 67-59 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fairwinds Christian lost, don't look at Daniel Evans. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 16 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Evans a new career-high in points.

Even though they lost, Fairwinds Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

It was another big night for Devin Culbertson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 boards for Faith Baptist School. With that strong performance, Culbertson is now averaging an impressive 17.2 points per game. Bryce Binkley was another key player, putting up seven points and 15 rebounds.

Fairwinds Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Faith Baptist School, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.
