Hughson had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Ceres Bulldogs 37-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Huskies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 581st).

Russell Spaulding threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Bryce McDaniel was his top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Eli Wilbanks rushed for 73 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughson will venture away from home to challenge Atwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ceres, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McNair at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
