Soccer Game Preview: Choctawhatchee vs. Escambia

The Choctawhatchee Indians will face off against the Escambia Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Choctawhatchee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

On Saturday, Choctawhatchee had just enough and edged Lincoln out 2-1. The Indians wouldn't have won without Justice Williams, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Escambia unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They and Milton finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Gators have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Choctawhatchee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four games. Escambia's draw makes their record 9-3-2 this season.

Choctawhatchee took their victory against Escambia in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Choctawhatchee since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
