Volleyball Recap: South Knox Takes a Loss

South Knox lost against Washington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans fell just short of the Hatchets by a score of 3-2.

South Knox took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-24, 16-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Despite the loss, South Knox saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braelyn Gladish had 25 digs and three assists. Gladish is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Among those leading the charge was Kennedy Barnard, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high. Jaea Cooper also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

South Knox's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Washington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

South Knox didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Wood Memorial on the 26th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Princeton on the 28th.
