Football Game Preview: Bastrop Rams vs. Richwood Rams

Bastrop will square off against Richwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bastrop comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Thursday, Bastrop was beaten by Sterlington 54-6. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Panthers are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richwood). They blew past North Webster, posting a 34-6 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Richwood and bumps their season record up to 3-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Bastrop, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Bastrop took their victory against Richwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 29-8 score. Does Bastrop have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
