Basketball Recap: Eastside Falls Despite Big Games from Roman Ruggiero and Walt Predmore

Eastside lost against Dorman back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eastside Eagles lost 44-24 to the Dorman Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Cavaliers are ranked fifth).

Eastside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Walt Predmore, who posted nine points, and Roman Ruggiero, who scored nine points and five boards.

Eastside has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Coming up, Eastside will take on Spartanburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Dorman, they and Wade Hampton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Wade Hampton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 12 straight defeats, while Dorman will come in with eight straight victories.
