Baseball Recap: Irrigon Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knappa, Irrigon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Weston-McEwen/Griswold Tiger Scots get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Tiger Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Colton Thompson, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennette Atkins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Irrigon's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Weston-McEwen/Griswold, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Weston-McEwen/Griswold will take on Pilot Rock at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Irrigon will be paying especially close attention to the Tiger Scots' game: after the Tiger Scots faces off against the Rockets, they'll take on Irrigon again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
