Softball Game Preview: Colbert County Indians vs. Florence Falcons

The Colbert County Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Florence Falcons at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Colbert County fell victim to Giles County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 12-0 to the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, Florence came up short against West Limestone on Friday, falling 13-2. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Colbert County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14-1.

Everything went Colbert County's way against Florence in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Colbert County made off with a 16-6 win. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
